Correcting Slice – My Story From Hopeless Hacker to Straight Hitter!

June 13th, 2010

This is my story of how i was able to correct my slice in a little over 2 weeks and at the same time drop 4 shots off my game – i’m sure you will agree that isn’t bad for 2 weeks work! to find out how i was able to correct my slice click here.

Now i know you are reading this because you want to fix your slice and get on with your game, the thing is with golf – as i’m sure you are all to painfully aware, there is no one shot fix for everything, there are just too many things that need to come into line and every golfer is different which makes it that much harder to get good at and that frustration along with the determination to get better is the reason we keep playing – we’re just suckers for punishment waiting for that day when it all comes good!

Well hopefully that day is not as far away as you may think i can remember not too long ago thinking that i might never get rid of my slice but once i found the right method and a real expert on the subject i was able to fix my slice in a little over 2 weeks.

How did i manage to do this? i’m glad you asked :-) firstly i found a guide book that was an absolute god send in my quest to fix my slice, not only did it explain everything in plain English and make it easy to understand it was also one of the least expensive things i had tried to fix my slice.

And boy im glad i did, the author of the book David Nevogt knows a thing or two about golf and has written several books on the subject the big thing behind the success of his book is getting across that you are not Tiger Woods or Phil Mickleson or any other top pro and don’t have their natural ability so you need to develop your own swing that fits your body and your ability. He also mentions the problem with having lessons with the local pro is they try to force you into creating a swing like the top pro’s, which you just can’t do.

I found this to be a great realization and it made so much sense, it also explained why all the lessons i had paid good money for in the past hadn’t paid off!

The system was really simple and easy to understand and only took me about 3 hours to go through the content and learn the process, then a few weeks later i had knocked 4 shots off my game and i’m still improving (now i just need to sort my chipping and putting). Most importantly i can say the fun has been put back into the game and i love every minute i am on the course, i no longer want to wrap my clubs around my bag after every shot (i know you have been there, i’m sure some of you have even done it!)

Please have a look around the rest of this site, hopefully it will inspire you to be able to fix your slice once and for all, Happy Golfing :-)

Golf Slice – the Causes

June 12th, 2010

Ok so before we are able to fix our golf slice it will be useful to know what causes it in the first place and what is happening to the ball to give it that perfect arc ( if you meant it to happen it would be impressive)

Firstly the ball makes that arc usually to the right because of the spin that is placed on the ball at impact with the golf club – so straighten up the club at impact and theoretically the ball should travel in a straight line, simple really – if only it was that simple in practice!

To stand any chance of straightening up the club face we need to know what is causing the miss-aligned impact, this can be due to several things.

  • The Grip – how we grip the golf club has very little to do with the direction the ball will travel in but a lot to do with how the club-face impacts the ball. Issues with the grip can be caused by a number of things – the wrong grip type, wrong placement of the hands and twisting of the hands can all affect the grip and thus the club-face at impact.
  • The Golf Stance – This also can be a major factor in creating or curing a golf swing slice it stands to reason that if your feet are mis-aligned with the rest of your body and ultimately the direction you want your golf ball to travel in there are going to be issues when you strike the ball often causing the club-face to hit the ball off centre. So before making your shots double check that your stance is not off centre, a good way of ensuring this is to put a golf club on the ground just in front of your feet and then stepping back and having a look at the direction the golf club is pointing in – if it’s off-centre you can then straighten your feet up and try again ( if being off centre is an issue practice hitting the ball with your feet aligned up with a club on the ground pointing in the right direction, after a while you will automatically line up straight and hopefully cure your golf swing slice).

There are other parts to the swing that can cause a slice like the back swing and the down swing, but the stance and grip are good places to start for now.

I can’t tell you how good it feels to of finally corrected my golf slice and in a few short weeks. To find out how i was able to correct my slice please click here.

Correcting Slice – Can it be done?

June 10th, 2010

Im sure you like me are a keen golfer, i’m sure you will agree one of the most infuriating things about the game of golf (and probably the reason we keep playing) is that there are so many things that need to come into line to have that “perfect round” all different aspects of the game putting, chipping, driving, mastering the different wedges and distances then you have all the different lies of the ball to deal with while on the course. But by far the biggest issue i have on the course is my slice, the worst part is that sometimes its there and sometimes it isn’t.
This has bugged me for years and i have tried all sorts of things for Correcting Slice, i have had countless lessons with pro’s and listened to their advice and attempts at creating the “perfect golf swing” but nothing seemed to fix my slice and i would spend half of my game searching in the bushes for my golf ball and being laughed at by my buddies! I had even considered giving up the game all together!

Luckily i found something that improved my slice and quickly within a couple of weeks i had dropped several shots off my score card and the best bit was i wasn’t hacking around in the bushes nearly as much, now i’m waiting for my buddies to catch up with me!.
